"wrote" is Simple Past
He wrote poems.

"written" is a Past Participle (the third form of the verb)
He has written many poems. 
He has not written many poems.
Has he written many poems?
Has he not written the poems?

"written" is Past Participle Adjective
I have got many written poems. 

"writing" is a Present Participle 
He is writing many poems.
